Frieza vs Myotismon!
Two sadistic, vile and heartless otherworldly dictators from from the realm Japanese anime and manga who set their sights to conquer all forms of life without mercy! When to think of it these two have much in common.
1. Both are villains of particular story arcs of a larger storyline who later get resurrected more than once.
2. Both have a diverse array of minions as their disposal, one of which turns against them due to years of abuse (Vegeta and Gatomon) and join the heroes
3. Both evolve into more powerful forms.

Frieza is more powerful and destructive, but I think Vamdemon has cooler design and I remember him more fondly. Thanks to him I got interested in vampires.
