Mesoamerican Colonial Empires

The Native American colonial Empires that coexisted with Europe's own in my alternate timeline, circa 1914.

Following a bloody yet-victorious war against the attempted colonization by the Spanish Conquistadors and subsequent plagues in the 1510's, both the Aztec and Mayan Native American nations enter a century-long period of isolationism.

Later in the early 1600's, The Mesoamericans' Southern neighbors, the Incas form trade relations with the Portuguese colonists from present-day Brazil to the East. Soon enough, Both the Mayans and Aztecs get word of the Incas experience with less hostile Europeans and both subsequently stepped down from isolation and get on their feet to give the outside world a second chance.

Over the next few decades of forming trading ties with the Europeans, The The Aztecs, Mayans and Incas are informed of the different European nations across the ocean forging worldwide expansionist colonial empires. All three are highly intrigued and are inspired to replicate the actions of the strangers overseas.

Starting in the mid 17th century, The Aztecs (light blue) successfully colonize Spain, The Western Sahara, Sierra Leone, Southern Italy, the Canary Islands, the Philippines and Hawaii (until losing it in the mid 19th century to the United States in this ATL's equivalent to the Spainish-American war). The Mayans (green) make the entire Caribbean region their trading hub and are even lucky enough to snag small part Africa which in our timeline, we know as Equatorial guinea. The Incans(red) absorb both their southern neighbors, the Nazca people and the land we know as Argentina for its rich supply of Silver. In the Pacific, they own both the islands of the Galapagos and Easter Island.
