Neo-Phoenician Alphabet

Description

Finally, my first Deviation since I've got home from travelling!

By the way, here I present to you a glimpse of what the Alphabet would look like today if the Phoenicians of Carthage had actually clobbered Rome when they had the chance to and thus, the west ended up adopting their alphabet instead of the Latin one.

Yes, I know we technically use the Phoenician Alphabet today, but only after being adapted and modified as it spread from culture to culture over the centuries. Here is a modernized version of the Phoenician script, closer to its original state. Like the Arabic Alphabet, it is written from right-left as opposed to left-right as it was back in the early Phoenician days.

This is also the alphabet as it is in my Phoenician Legacy Alternate History. From left-right order, we have (by phonetic value) A, B, V, G (in both the Greek and Phoenician scripts, both letters C and G were one), D, J, E, F, Z, H, Th, I/Y, K, L, N, X, O, P, M, Q, R, S, T, U, W.

Feel free to comment! ;)

Oh, fascinating! I love alternate history, especially when it's sprinkled with these sorts of details. Well done.
