Science Fiction Future Earth

Hi!

Here's my personal vision for a future Earth if I create my own Science Fiction Universe! It is around the 2700's and much of Earth is flooded due to centuries of global warming and climate change. Plant and animal species have gone extinct and a huge percentage of the world's population displaced and relocated several times.

As for technology, the Carbon nanotube material has become a pivotal keystone in life for those who have access to them. Its usage ranges from crafting circutry, forging armor and weaponry, constructing buildings such as orbital elevators and even creating synthetic body parts. In order To compensate for the absence of fossil fuels, the developed nations of the world now rely on renewable sources such as nuclear fusion, solar power, geothermal energy, Hydro power and others. Nuclear fission has been completely displaced due to the risk of facing catastrophic accidents such as Chernobyl and Tohoku.

You can also see some of the era's major powers too. Here, most of the present-day developed world, including The United States, Europe, Japan and elsewhere has gone the path of Rome. just as a Dark age followed the fall of Rome, a dark age plagues much of the current Northern hemisphere and thus has earned the torch of the new third world. Armed conflicts on different scales periodically occur over water supplies.

The Washington Legion, which consists of Present Day Michigan, Illinois and Ohio is what remans of the United States Government itself. It is a faction remisent of the French Foriegn Legion because it is run by Mercenaries who are hired by any power willing to pay them good prices. The Great Planes Republic which takes up the Great planes of North America is an oligarchy that is largely unfriendly with its neighbors and normally starts tussles over water.

The leading world powers are Brazil, The Grand African Community (GAC), The Congo Empire and the South East Elevator Federation (SEEF). Two of the powers, the SEEF and GAC own orbital elevators Babel α and β respectively, which both give great wealth, influential ability, supplies, alternate energy sources and political power to the respective nations that currently own them. Both of the countries also have forms of government beyond that of Democracy and Their closest friend is the Turkic Union, which together, form the Allied Elevator Ring (AER), the United Nations and European Union of its time.

The AER has Cold-War like tensions with the Congo Empire over resources and land disuptes. The Congo Empire was established by the present day Congolese and neighboring people after struggling excruciatingly for centuries to catch up with the developed world. The result was the establishment of a mighty militaristic empire under family rule with a self-established line of Monarchs at the top. It has strong and influential military and economic power that meets the needs of its inhabitants, but overseas they are also known for many corrupt activites such as suppling numerous rebel factions with weaponry.
