Hi!
These days, I want to inform you that I've been into Sonic The Hedgehog.
If you remember watching "The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" cartoon in the early 90's then you may remember the bungling team of Robotnik's subordinates, the SSSSS squad, composed of Scratch, Grounder and (Unofficially) Coconuts.
You may also remember that a secondary Sonic cartoon was produced at the same time as ''Adventures'' simply called "Sonic the Hedgehog" (or simply referred to as SatAM to distinguish it from the other show).
We all know that SatAM was of a darker and more serious atmosphere than ''Adventures'', for example the villain Dr Robotnik was portrayed as an evil dictator who has already conquered most of planet Moebius, rather than a comical villain. If the SSSSS squad ever appeared in SatAM (which they didn't) they would've been portrayed more menacingly as well. So, I've decided to have my own take on what might have been.
Unlike their incompetent Adventures counterparts, this incarnation of the SSSSS squad is a team of sly, scheming and highly dangerous adversaries. For their origin I think that they would've originally been normal citizens of Mobotropolis who swore loyalty to Robotnik, then were cheerfully roboticized.
Scratch is now a deadly, quick and agile bird robot with running speed that rivals that of Sonic himself! His partner Grounder is a mean bastard who brutally enjoys tormenting weak and small things. Both of these baddies come extremely close to killing Sonic and destroying Knothole village. They also take great advantage against the blue hedgehog by threatening to murder Sally Acorn.

If the Canon Scratch and Grounder saw these dopplegangers, they would probably try to be more like them, but would fail miserably due to being too dumb and soft.
